Privacy Policy When Using the Apartments2Rent.Net® Mmicrosite™ System

'Apartments2Rent.Net', 'RenterSite.Com', and 'TorontoVacancies.Com' will be referred to as "A2N" throughout this document. You may browse any A2N website without submitting any personal information. Some of our key features, products and services require the entry of some personal information in order for them to function. For example, if you request that we e-mail information to you, then we require your e-mail address along with your first and last name. If you wish for us to contact you by phone then we require a phone number from you. If you wish to request an appointment to view a rental property then we will also require certain information such as address, reason for moving, move date, and other details. We keep all of your personally identifiable information in both online and offline facilities. Once you register for any service that requests personal information, then your use of any A2N websites will no longer be anonymous and you will be able to take full advantage of the many specialized offerings on our websites.

Please note that any information you enter will be used by the A2N system to automatically create an online account that can be used by you to access any A2N website as a “registered user”. You will be notified by e-mail if such an account is automatically created. There are several advantages to being a "registered user". For example, you will no longer have to enter your name or other information onto any screen, as the system will fill in all of the blanks for you. If your communication is disrupted and you need to return to our website, the system remembers where you were at the time your service was disrupted. If you have entered search parameters, then the system will remember these parameters and use them as a default upon your return. This saves you a lot of time and effort if your search selection is complex. In addition, all screens in A2N websites are created only as you request them, and can customize themselves based on your personal information. For example, if the system knows you are American it will not display the provinces of Canada in state selection lists, or advertising that is specific to Mexico. If it knows you live in New York it will not display banking information specific to California, or an advertisement for Florida hurricane insurance. If it has a zip code or postal code on file for your location, then it can also tailor information such as available moving companies specifically to your neighborhood, and provide specific information for painters, drapery providers etc that operate only in the neighborhood where you live or plan to move to.

In addition to registration, we may ask you for personal information at other times, such as when you order a publication or enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us or one of our partners. You may provide us with personal information when you send us an e-mail message, such as if you report a problem with one of our websites or our services. Whenever you contact us, we will keep a record of that correspondence. We may also ask users to complete surveys that we then use for research purposes. As a general rule, we will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information. However, A2N may access, preserve, and disclose your account information if required to do so by law or to: (i) comply with any recognized legal process; (ii) enforce our Terms and Conditions of Service; (iii) respond to claims that any such information violates the rights of third-parties; (iv) process customer service and renter information requests on your behalf; (v) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of A2N, its users and the public; (vi) respond to criminal and civil subpoenas and court orders that reasonably appear to be valid; (vii) comply with requirements in connection with the sale of all or certain of our assets; and (viii) allow for inspections by law enforcement officials. A2N will take reasonable precautions to protect the information it obtains from you from our loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure or use, or alteration or destruction, of that information, but A2N will have no liability to you or to any third party regarding disclosure of such information. Furthermore, it is not possible for data transmissions over the internet or wireless networks to be guaranteed as “secure”. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk.
